Heavy rains have been the last days in some parts of Germany, causing significant damage and flooding. Precisely Audi has been affected by the floods, being forced to stop production is its Neckarsulm factory, in the North of Baden-Wuerttemberg, which is one of the main centers of production of the brand around the world. The consequences of the floods in the region of Baden-Wuerttemberg have been very notable, and must mourn four people.
In Neckarsulm, the Audi A4, A5, A6, A7 and A8, are made with their respective sport versions S and RS, as well as the Audi R8 supercar. Heavy rains on Sunday night and this morning have flooded some areas of the factory, due to the overflowing of the river Neckar, forcing to stop production in the whole plant. It is expected tonight production can resume.

It is unknown how many units is the production deficit caused by the break, but Audi manufactures some 1,300 units per day in Neckarsulm. Last year Audi produced 272.103 cars in these facilities, which employs 16,000 people. Mercedes has raced more than luck in its Untertuerkheim plant, in the same region, and about 65 km away, where there has also been flooding. The star brand has not seen affected the productive pace at the factory which built engines, gearboxes and transmissions.
