One of the few brands that came too late to the market for SUVS and crossovers as we know them is Skoda. Went forth to Seat, but neither is it’s coming soon. The substitute of the Skoda Yeti, according to a confirmation of a few minutes of the firm, will receive the name of Skoda Karoq. It tells of Skoda that, similar to the Kodiaq was inspired by the inhabitants of the island of Kodiak, residents have served as inspiration for the name of Karoq. “Karoq” comes from the mixture of “Kaa’raq”, which means drive, and the word “Ruq”, which comes to be arrow. Leaving the curiosities of the name aside, the Skoda Karoq will be presented to the public for the first time and formally in Stockholm on May 18; Although their arrival to the market will not be before this summer. This Skoda Karoq will be positioned as a model C-SUV, so it will fight for its part of the segment with cars like the Ateca Seat, Nissan Qashqai, the Peugeot 3008 or the Hyundai Tucson, to name only a few. It is expected that share engines with the aforementioned Ateca.
