The Toyota C-HR is currently the model more expected in the signature Japanese. Is the new bet in the segment SUV and just of started its production in Turkey. As we already knew, the C-HR will be assembled at the plant of Toyota Motor Manufacturing Turkey (TMMT) at Sakarya (Turkey). In this way become the eighth model manufactured in Europe, being the third hybrid after the Yaris Hybrid and Auris Hybrid.
Until today, the Toyota Corolla and verse were produced in TMMT. C-HR becomes its first hybrid and also the first model with XD platform in manufacturing out of Japan. For its production is has increased the template in 2,000 workers and is have invested some 350 million of euros additional. As a result, the total production of the Turkish plant capacity will increase from the 150,000 to 280,000 units annually.
The Toyota C-HR is exported from Turkey to all over the world. TMMT currently exports around the 80% its production to Europe, but will also open its borders to countries like United States, Canada, Taiwan, Mauritius and South Africa. Although all components of the SUV does not come from the same place. The new hybrid system that will take comes from the plant’s engines of Toyota Motor Manufacturing UK (TMUK) in Deeside (Wales).
On the other hand Toyota Motor Manufacturing Poland (TMMP) in Walbrzych (Poland), will provide the manual transmissions that take versions of 1.2 petrol litres. In 2018 this plant will begin to produce also the hybrid transaxle , which by now is manufactured in Japan. The majority of components used come from Europe, leaving clear Toyota bet on our continent. The first units of the Toyota C-HR will arrive in Spain at the end of the year/beginning of 2017.
