The Renault-Nissan Alliance does expand and grow in the world. It already controls to Mitsubishi and will soon begin to build cars in Iran with a local partner. However this expansion will not stay there and to the year 2018 wants to begin making cars in Pakistan. To carry out this business venture will have the help of a local partner, as it already does in many other countries.
The idea of manufacturing cars in China comes from the conversations that have kept the Minister of Finanzas de Pakistán Ishaq Dar with several senior leaders of the Renault-Nissan alliance in Paris. According to Reuters Pakistan wants that its local market no longer dominated by Japanese firms such as Suzuki, Toyota and Honda and this It has engaged in talks with other foreign manufacturers like Renault-Nissan, Fiat Chrysler Automóbiles or PSA (Peugeot and Citroen DS).
This initiative is very attractive for manufacturers since Pakistan has around two hundred million inhabitants and sales representing the automotive industry is very limited. Only 180,000 new vehicles have been sold during the year 2015 and these data could increase if the manufacturers are adapted to the tastes of local consumers.
According to Renault already are in talks with those partners local Ghandhara and to the Futtaim Groups to develop the network commercial of Renault in Pakistan. In addition, within the agreement would be included a new plant of manufacture located in the city of Ghandara in Karachi. All the preparations should allow that Renault is selling in Pakistan to beginning of the next year 2018.
The last thing missing to be confirmed are the models that would be built in the Asian country, although it is no wonder that some of them belong to the Dacia brand. In addition, still not been confirmed the investments to be carried out or the participation which will take each of the partners in the new company.
