Weeks ago the sports subsidiary of Renault, Renault Sport, published a suggestive video on its YouTube channel. Recreating images of video games, Renault Sport made a revision to its most emblematic sports models. At the end, when it seemed that the video ended, appeared a digital teaser of the fourth generation Renault Megane RS. Unfortunately for us, covered with a canvas that would not let us see too many details.
In the Hall of Shanghai, which is taking place at the moment, the head of exterior design of the French brand, Stéphane Janin, did some alleged statements quite interesting to our British colleagues from coach. “Will have a powerful product, but simple design and sensual lines“, declared Janin. With these statements, head of design seems to try to explain, without releasing too much garment, which will not be difficult to distinguish it from a Renault Mégane “normal”, but that it will not be radical.
It’s not something that will surprise us too, because normally the latest Renault sport models have not been especially radicals or very different from the versions that are derived. A Honda Civic Type R, for example, is much more aggressive and dynamic aesthetically than in conventional versions of the same model.
Seems that Renault seeks to create a “Wolf” with lambskin. The third generation of the Mégane RS, despite quite overlooked on an aesthetic level, was still one of fastest time compact sportslong. Proof of this was his incessant struggle to maintain their time at the Nurburgring as the fastest of the compact front-wheel drive.
The new Renault Megane RS, as it seems, will be steering rear axle that already mounted some versions of this fourth generation. This should improve its passage through bend, both turns slow and fast. In addition, sure that Renault Sport has been doing a good job looking for a sunset to balanced and able to withstand very demanding circuit. Insurance does not disappoint in this regard.
As regards the motorisation, gala brand has not yet confirmed nothing but rumors suggest that either uses a motor 2 litres either decanted by a suitably adapted version of propeller equipped in the Alpine A110. They are also spoken of possible transmissions, gaining much momentum, the possibility of the manual change of series and a transmission EDC as an option. It is virtually assured that it will continue sending power to the front axle. And since we are talking about power, very rare would be that the new Renault Megane RS handed over less than 300 HP.
